The Gardeners’ House

We helped The Gardeners' House turn a historic building and a big ambition into one clear, grounded brand, from the signs inside to the website that fills its events.

The Gardeners’ House

Rooted in Purpose: Unified Design for a Regenerative Heritage Space.

The Gardeners’ House is a historic building reborn as a hub for community and environmental work. We gave it a brand drawn from its own architecture, carried consistently from print and signage to a website built around its events.

The challenge

The Gardeners’ House had a building full of history and a team with a clear ambition: to make it a home for community and environmental work. What it didn’t yet have was one identity to tell that story. It needed a brand that felt as authentic as the building itself, and that the team could use consistently long after we’d finished. [Add a line in the team’s own words about what wasn’t working before.]

The mark, drawn from the arched window at the end of the building.

What we did

Why: We started with a brand discovery workshop to agree the organisation’s values, who it serves and what it wants to become. That gave us a clear position: a place that honours its past while working towards a regenerative future.

How: The identity is built around a bespoke mark taken from the arched window at the end of the building. It’s abstract enough to feel modern, but anyone who knows the house will recognise it, so past and present meet in one shape. We carried it through printed materials for outreach, and a wayfinding and signage scheme that helps visitors find their way and reflects the care taken in the building’s regeneration

When: A custom WordPress website brings the story together online, giving the team an accessible home for outreach and events [that they now update themselves?]. Detailed brand guidelines mean everything they produce from here stays consistent.

The result

The Gardeners’ House now looks and sounds like one place wherever people meet it: on the door, in print and online. It has a foundation for telling its community and environmental story for years to come. [Add a real outcome if you have one, e.g. event bookings, funding won or visitor feedback.]

  • One brand across the building, print and web
  • A mark drawn from the building itself
  • Wayfinding that makes the house easy to explore
  • Guidelines the team can work from
