St Michael’s Mount

Since 2008 we've helped the team at St Michael's Mount protect their brand, guide their visitors and look after a historic site, in print, on the ground and online.

St Michael’s Mount

A Cornish icon, presented consistently since 2008.

St Michael’s Mount is one of Cornwall’s best-known places. We’ve been its creative partner since 2008, keeping the brand consistent everywhere it appears and designing ways for visitors to explore that help protect the site itself.

The challenge

A place this well known has a lot to live up to. Every leaflet, sign and screen has to reflect the Mount’s high standards, across a busy team and several sub-brands. At the same time, the historic site has to welcome visitors while being conserved for the future, so how people move around it matters. Wayfinding that guides visitors along the key routes around the site.

What we did

Why: We work alongside the team as guardians of the brand, making sure the Mount’s identity, key messages and standards come through consistently in everything it produces

How: We developed a wayfinding and interpretation strategy that highlights the key routes around the site, shaping how visitors experience it and supporting ongoing conservation. To ease footfall further, we designed and built an online tour so people can explore the Mount digitally. We also designed a dual-purpose guidebook that works both as an on-site guide and as an educational resource at home, plus sub-brands for Amphicraft and the Island Café, full exhibition graphics for the Steward’s House, and a steady stream of marketing materials.

When: This is long-term, ongoing support rather than a one-off project. Over the years we’ve become an extension of the team, handling their content and visitor data carefully and securely along the way.

The result

Wherever visitors meet St Michael’s Mount, from a sign on site to a page of the guidebook or the online tour, it looks and feels like the same place. The site has tools to manage how people explore it, and the team has a partner who knows the brand inside out. [Add a real outcome if you have one, e.g. online tour visits, guidebook sales or visitor feedback.]
